  • Healthy Living from Young to Old:

Growing up it was rare to have toys, yet I didn't feel deprived. I'd find pieces of scrap and have more fun using my imagination, later putting bikes together to create a unique combination we called hi-cycles. After school we'd have chores and on weekends worked a few hours for the family good which instilled self-esteem. What kids need isn't a lot of toys but fresh air, exercise (Parents too) and sense of contributing and value while parents need to resist being pressured to provide questionable playthings - And certainly the environment doesn't need more non-degradables but more recycling to include packaging. This also applies to video games and TV. Moderation and discernment by subscribing to DVDs through the mail or otherwise which are rated, state content and non-commercialized is best. Avoid unnecessary violence and obscenity. Miles of aisles of food: 80% of which are long-term-wise detrimental to health, environmentally degrading or less than humane. Yet the 20% offers plenty of tasty selection to maintain well-being and longevity simply by using ones finer instincts and common sense.

  • Maintaining Dental Health

A very economical way to maintain dental health: Bacteria do the most damage when inactive. Therefore at night while using the restroom first rinse with water then take a swig of peroxide, hold then expel, don't rinse (moderate or discontinue if experiencing sensitivity). Been for years and my dental problems have practically vanished while having ever-white teeth and clean breath. Of course floss, invest in a electric toothbrush, they're far more effectual and cost effective given dental savings and avoid a lot of pain and wasted time.

It's a lot easier then one might think to increase health, well-being and longevity.

  • The Healing Benefits of Aloe Vera:

I would like to share a health maintenance tip I discovered that may save people a lot money, pain and time. I suffered a wound that became deeply infected and didn't seem to be healing. After having applied several off the counter products and realizing the possibility of gangrene if continuing to fester I decided to try one more idea before seeing a doctor. I again thoroughly cleaned the wound and allowed to air dry (a hair dryer will greatly expedite the drying). I then applied Aloe Vera gel allowing to dry. I checked the injury later that day. To my amazement it had all but healed - In a few days completely.

Aloe Vera is a resin of a common cactus plant by the same name known to be superb for burns while have a broad range of other uses. Forming a soothing transparent natural bandage and most effective when rubbed on from a cutting of the plant itself, which is often kept as decorative houseplant.

P.S I since found using liquid vitamin E in the same manner is also effective.

  • Supplements:

At the top of the list is fish oil which can be taken in sealed clear caps so you never taste them. Good to alleviate and prevent arthitis as well as generally.

  • Apple Cider Vinegar:

To cure athlete's foot: a simple remedy of apple cider vinegar will do the trick. Soak a cotton ball in the vinegar and apply it to the foot twice a day, not forgetting between the toes. Let the vinegar dry thoroughly before putting on your socks and shoes.

Apple cider vinegar is a potent antibacterial solution that also possesses antifungal properties. Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly to avoid spreading the infection.

  • Your Bones:

Munch on carrots, the potassium and magnesium in it will strengthen your bones.

  • Reducing Near-Point Stress on the Eyes:

Headaches, burning and watery eyes, squinting and eyes that tire easily are common symptoms of near-point stress caused by such continuous close-up visual activities as reading and writing. The problem lies in the fact that human beings were not designed for near vision as a continuous activity. We have hunter-soldier" eyes for survival. Only in the last 50 years or so have so many people been forced to deal with sustained, near visual tasks. Many visual difficulties can be reduced by following a few of the following simple guidelines:

    • Look up and away from your close-up task regularly. Make it a habit to change your focus from near to distant objects as frequently as possible.

    • When watching television, try to sit eight to ten feet away from the set. The ideal distance for close up visual tasks is 14 to 16 inches from the eyes.

    • Good lighting is important. A good rule of thumb is to make your working or reading light three times brighter than the lighting in the rest of the room.

  • You Won't Believe It Unless You try It. I Guarantee It.

Years ago, I fractured my ribs. If this has ever happened to you, the pain is so severe that if someone walks near you, you will actually scream. I had to go on disability and take pain medication that did not help. My good friend told me to chop up some comfrey plants, boil them in water, then strain them and while still hot take a rag and dip it into the hot solution and apply to the hurt. Within one day my hurt was almost completely gone. Just recently I took some Comfrey to one of my co-workers because her back was hurting so bad and she tried it and couldn't thank me enough, don't ever turn your nose up at anything unless you have given it a try. I know that your body is going to say, why didn't you do this before.
