Some basic information regarding myself musically, etc.

I started playing guitar in my latter teens without any instruction or any encouragement from family or otherwise.

Torn between the dream of a musical career and saving a beautiful piece of property on which I built some unique structures while living in a isolated area made it almost impossible to find places to play was discouraging along with developing the land into a non-religious retreat to preserve its integrity, trees and wildlife and provide people a refuge to rejuvenate, commune harmoniously with nature and each other ( see Gatheringlight.com.).

Although having a creative talent in writing and arts in general I always knew given a little experience I could become an outstanding performer. Though I would continue to enjoy composing commercially marketable songs in a diversity of musical styles i.e. soft-rock-pop, folk-country crossover, smoothjazz-folk/rock fusion, new age, comedy, classical, smooth piano etc. Success in the musical forum would provide a means to lyrically and otherwise promote a simple yet profoundly comprehensive positive perspective: Musically expressed with the power and poetic conviction of Van Morrison, Diamond, and Springsteen yet within its own unique musical style and in depth comprehensive philosophical foundation. Basically conveyed as - Goodness, beauty and happiness here and now for its own sake, and the diversity of truth ...or that which brings the greatest possible harmony to all things without further expectation of reward (see my non-profit aesthetically soothing website: Gatheringlight.org).

I believe the world desperately needs and hungers for such a leaderless self-affirming inclusive non-conflictional approach lyrically and otherwise resistant by its nature to distortion and exploitation to inspire and elevate the human spirit and serve the greater good.

With all Sincerity,

Brad Kalita
